HOSPITAL CLOWNING
WORKSHOP PROPORSAL

The proposal can be carried out with hospital clown groups that already work in hospitals or with a group of people interested in having an approach to the subject. We also strongly recommend this experience to health workers.

We propose to stop and look ourselves in the eyes, bring the breath to the soles of the feet and awaken the center. Listen to us as part of a collective body and listen to each other within the spaces we inhabit. We will become conscious about the distances that link us to others and we will contemplate how they change at each moment. We will also recognize ourselves as highly sensitive and fragile beings, full of desires, fears, questions, light, darkness and creative potential. We will recognize ourselves as rivers that are no longer the same as the instant before because we are constantly changing. We will look at our relationship with death and explore the concept of "little deaths".

WORK STAGES

The proposal consists of the following parts, being able to deepen in the points in which the group decides to deepen:

Through dynamics of maximum sensitivity we will take each participant to a genuine state of openness and vulnerability. We believe that in this way each individual and the group will reach a base state for the work, being able to identify where each one is with himself/herself and with the group.

We will approach dynamics related to the specific training of hospital clowning. We will experience to work depending on the needs of the person in front of me, we will use fantasy and play as powerful tools to transform the reality. We understand the healing process closely linked to the personal power of the patient, so we will try to identify what actions to take in order to create a conducive space so that the personal power of the person in front of me can grow.

In recent years we have investigated how music can feed each clown and hospital interventions. Being a great intervention tool in particular cases such as: in emergency room, with people in coma, blind people, maternal or infant neonatology rooms and in cases that a minimal proposal is requiered. Also we have found that in general rooms music becomes an extremely integrating factor among the patients, transforming the energetic state of the room.

In this way we will approach the musical clown working specific techniques for hospital work.

We understand that each human being brings with themselves information. Listening to it and transforming it into sound, text or song is an expressive and transforming passage.

WORKING TIME

The workshop is carried out in a process of four days of three hours each day, being flexible to the needs of each group. We aim to ensure that work is not only during the three hours of each day, but that it continues in the daily routine, be attentive, awake to the fact that each moment can be a signal for work.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

Minimum 8. Maximum 20. The number of participants will depend on the space.

SPACE NEEDS

Enough space so that participants can lie on the floor and can move comfortably.

Testimonials

"The work developed had an excellent repercussion both for the specificity and quality of the research regarding the fundamentals of clown art and its relationship with music, as well as for the sensitivity of the artists who taught it. The workshop greatly favored group integration and honed the question "what does really matter?". It was very special at the stage we were ... and we could see that even working as clowns sometimes the relationships become "mechanical" or "anesthetized." The workshop also marked us by the delicate and loving way that happened, connected with the attitude of life of artists and how they relate to each other. It was a beautiful beginning of the year that encouraged us and inspired us, generated fruits and lively memories for the run of 2016.
